PLATELET RICH FIBRIN

What is PRF?

PRF is an all-natural way to promote healing and recovery after tooth removals and is recommended to those interested in implants in the future. PRF stands for Platelet Rich Fibrin. It is one of the major components found in the blood. PRF contains important-infection fighting, anti-inflammatory, blood clotting factors, and stem cells which are beneficial for the body's healing response.

How is PRF obtained?

PRF is obtained by taking a small sample of blood from the patient's arm and the PRF is then extracted using a centrifuge.

How is PRF used in Dentistry?

Once a blood sample is obtained and the PRF is formed, the PRF is applied to an empty extraction site where it can help attract bone-forming cells to regenerate the surrounding bone. This allows optimal healing outcomes for our patients.
